Practice the future before it arrives.
New policies, technologies and organizational changes create situations people have never faced. I design games, simulations and live exercises that help organizations explore possible futures and rehearse difficult decisions while there’s still time to change the plan.
My approach combines strategic foresight, serious play and hands-on experience leading complex technology and service delivery.

I design and lead simulations that help organizations test policies, rehearse operations and examine how decisions hold up under changing conditions.
I call this live-action service design. Participants work through realistic situations using the tools, information and authority available to them. They process cases, allocate resources, negotiate responsibilities, supervise AI and see how their decisions affect what happens next.
Exercises can involve one team, an entire service or several organizations with competing priorities. I develop the scenarios, rules and supporting software, then lead participants through the exercise.
We can change the rules, introduce new constraints and run it again. The results can expose problems with procedures, gaps in authority and work that needs to happen before a service goes live.
Digital statecraft
The future of government is a design problem.
Governments are investing in AI, modernizing public services and changing how they operate. Those investments depend on decisions about procurement, risk, staffing and how people experience the services they use.
My work spans customer experience (CX), product leadership, digital transformation and public administration. I work on the decisions that determine what gets built, how teams deliver it and whether institutions can sustain the results.
Strategic foresight brings another dimension to that work. Through scenario planning and futures thinking, organizations can examine emerging risks, challenge assumptions and consider how today’s decisions might hold up under different conditions.
I’m also interested in creative bureaucracy and the politics of technological hype. New technologies attract money and political attention long before their usefulness is established. That affects what governments buy, which problems receive attention and how much room remains for other ideas.
These subjects inform my teaching, research and work with organizational leaders.
