What it does

Leafroll treats the relationships worth having as earned, mutual, and finite. Reaching out carries weight, both people choose a connection together, and the network stays small enough to stay real.

  • Bilateral by design. A connection means something because both people chose it.
  • Intentional outreach. Reaching out costs something, so each message carries real signal.
  • Identity you own. Your identity and data live with you on ATProto. Leafroll is one application you choose to use.
  • Trust that travels. Your reputation moves with you across protocol-native apps.

Why ATProto

On the AT Protocol, identity is portable, the data is yours, and the network runs as an application on shared infrastructure. That foundation is what lets earned, bilateral relationships work in practice: trust and identity move with the person, across every app they use.

Part of a larger body of work

Leafroll is one of several protocol-native experiments, each exploring a familiar category for a world of portable identity. It shares its trust model with Glowrm and sits alongside PBJ and other ATProto work.
